Farming and Judiciary

Luke recognizes agriculture plays a dominant role in our local and State economy.  The issues our local farmers face are diverse.  Each local farmer faces a unique set challenges.  Having two major rivers in our County further complicates the multitude of federal and state laws that must be taken into consideration.

Our farmers and producers deserve a judiciary that understands these laws and is willing to listen and learn so that fair decisions always result.  The law and legislation must be read to minimize the burdens it places on our local farming operations.  Luke is well aware that government does not produce the food we eat, farmers do.  The law must not rubber stamp government intrusion especially when it will hamper farming productivity.
